Given that the year is winding down, I think it’s the perfect time to reflect on the past year and share a few thoughts with all of you who share our love of the music and event industry. Just as our name would imply, The Gathering Group is all about incredible gatherings that bring a diverse and unique group of people together to enjoy something that is universally understood: Music.

The entire team here at TGG is passionate about music – while the preference of genre may vary, we all celebrate what music has brought each of us individually and together have bonded on the basis of exploring new styles of music, searching for emerging talent, and developing events that will ultimately redefine what it means to experience a live music event.

Here in Chicago, we’ve watched many festival brands evolve over the years. We saw an opportunity to be a part of this evolution of music in a city that values true immersion in each event. To us, the experiential aspect is key, and TGG was founded on the belief that the intersection of technology and music is one that should be highlighted in a more deliberate way to provide an unforgettable and tangible experience. It’s a core part of who we are to investigate new technologies, from 3-D concerts from the likes of Morgan Page, to RFID ticketing, to projection technology, and everything in between.

We want to partner not only with great companies that are already working towards a similar vision, but also with creative studios and performers to unite artistic performance in many forms. We are focused on redefining concerts and festivals in ways that are truly experiential and celebrate technology and art, perhaps more broadly.

We’re thankful for the opportunity to think in big, outside-the-box ways to change how we experience music, technology, and art, which of course is facilitated by the support we’ve received.
